Five for Friday {Linky Party.. August 22}

fiveforfriday2_thumb[3]
So I am back to link up with Doodle Bugs Teaching.  I've been super busy this past week with a last minute vacation and getting my classroom ready to go and just trying to get my house in order before I go back for my first full week.

So here is my room after one day in the classroom.  I have a lot of work ahead of me, but I feel like I made a dent on the surface.

I was able to have a small getaway when some friends asked us to come visit them down in the Outer Banks.   It was such a nice getaway, and Mason loved every moment of it.

So I started on some Math Interactive Notes for Notebooking this year.  I finished Ordinal Numbers and love them!  So cute, and I really want to stick with an interactive approach this year.  Something that you can really understand and stick with.  Here are the ordinal numbers notes.

I am a little upset - since I was having a wonderful time in NC, I missed my monthly party with my Literary Junkies friends.  However, I did link up with them and had a good time.  I am super excited about the book we are reading for our next monthly link-up.
The Wife, the Maid, and the Mistress
Here is my link - up here.  Here is my post this past week with the Literary Junkies. (here)

Thanks for stopping by.  Hopefully I can catch up on some blogging this weekend.  Here's to wishful thinking!  Have a good one!  Happy Friday!

Literary Junkies .August.

Pink Heels Pink Truck

So I am linking up again with the Literary Junkies this month over at Girl on the Move.  We are chatting this month about Lone Wolf, by Jodi Picoult.  Here are the questions for this month!

1. What are you reading? Tell us about it!
Right now I am reading Girls of August By: Anne Rivers Siddons and The Daring Ladies of Lowell

2. Do you read one book at a time, or read multiple books at once?
I normally like atleast 2 going at the same time.  I normally have a book on my kindle, one that I can physically hold and an audio book for the car rides.
3. What is the first book that made you fall in love with reading?
I believe it was the secret garden.  Love that!
4. Do you prefer a physical copy of the book or an electronic version?
I have had 2 wrist surgeries and still need some more help in that department - so I think I'll say kindle or even audio, because it is easier for me to hold for long periods of time.
5. What are three books currently on your To Be Read list?
I really want to read the whole Outlander Series - since it just came out on the Starz channel. Can you think of any others to add to the list?

Well thanks for hanging out - I can wait for the twitter chat, I am hoping I'll be able to get on - especially since I got the times wrong last month!

Back to School Fashion: Enchanted Story

Here we go again - Round 2 of Back to School Fashion.  Here is the Enchanted Forest/Fairy Tale Trend for the upcoming Fall 2014 season.  Not that I don't think the fox hooded sweater isn't absolutely adorable, I don't think we would be very well respected in our classroom if we came in rocking this frock.

Back to School Style: Swinging 60's Fashion

So there is a first time for everything!  I signed up for Polyvore.  Here I am!  You can follow me here!  So all of the Fall 2014 trends have been out for a bit, and one of the new trends for this season coming up is the 60's.  So what we see on the runway and what we see in a regular store are two different things, as a teacher I wanted to make these trends something of my own, that could easily transfer over into the classroom.   Here are some pictures straight off the runway.

Link can be found here

So this is what I came up with.  Hope you like!

Monday Made It 8.4.14

So I have another month before school starts but, I wanted to link up with 4thGrade Frolics for another  Monday Made It

I have had a lot going on over here with home renovations and trying to figure out which project we want to tackle next (such a pain), but I am trying to get a little ahead of where I need to be for the start of school.

Ok, so here is my inspiration for the week.  My chalkboard for this week.  It might be a little crooked, but not too terrible!
Here is the song if you want to listen along while you finish reading the rest of this post.

So I found so many of these where people were having to cut things out and paste and this and that.  I didn't want to have to do all of that.  So I made up my own - in Word.  I just need to bring up my contact information and I'm waiting on my schedule for this year, since we don't start school until September I will probably get it the last week of school.  I plan on printing this on colored paper as soon as I get all the information to finish it up!

Whew - I can't believe I copied more than 150 pieces of paper, with 100 of them being Cardstock!  I was stressing over spending that much money with OfficeMax, but I was able to use my retail card that our district provides for a discount.  So I was able to get down from 90 dollars, to 50 and then they were running a special for 25% off copies this week so they gave me that on top, so I managed spending 37 dollars.  Not too bad. So now I have a lot of cutting and laminating in my future, which is perfect since my district in throwing its own PINTEREST party this coming Thursday.  I am hoping I can get the majority of this done and cut so that I am ready to go when I go to move rooms next week.  YIKES - not looking forward to moving rooms.
So remember those frames I was doing last week - here are two of them hung up in my craft room/office.  There's an ornament my son handcrafted as well on there.  fun, Fun, FUN!  I need to get more serious about back to school Stuff, but I figured I'll get there eventually!

So I'll leave you with the frame that I wrote out the first dance lyrics to for a friend's wedding I attended over the weekend.  So happy for the both of them and it was a wonderful wedding!  Have a great week!
