Made It Monday - LuLaRoe Style 1.4.16

So I am kind of totally am all about LuLaRoe at the moment.  I am anxiously awaiting an amazing shipment of clothes.  I am ready to get this show on the road so to speak!  So I decided to put my crafting tools to the limits and myself for that matter.  Today was SUPER trying at work, and I was just ready to sit and relax with a nice glass of red.  However, I needed something more this evening, and by more I mean a cute canvas tote to carry my new loot that will be arriving soon!

So here is what I used:

  • Silhouette
  • Freezer Paper
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Fabric Medium
  • PATIENCE

So using my trusty Silhouette Cameo, I was able to make a stencil.  Here is an another great tutorial on how to use Freezer Paper, in order to make a stencil and design:  here

So I first weeded my stencil and laid it on the canvas bag, and ironed it down.  Yay, this took a couple different attempts to get to this process, but I managed and got it done!

Here is a close up of the stencil, not perfect and that is the reason why it has some imperfections.  However, it is going to be perfect for me!  BTW this was a hard template to lay for me, everything was a piece by itself, and they all seemed to have a mind all to their own.

So here I am finished with my stencil, I had no rhyme or reason with what color I did first, with the exception that I painted that color when I found it in my stash of colors, I had to do a lot of mixing to achieve my colors I was trying to get.  I think mixing turned out ok.

Finished bag-a-roe, I am so happy with the colors and the positions of things.
Look, I even got to model with a pair of my LuLaRoe Leggings. I love the swallows on my legs. Who am I kidding I love that they are blue.  My favorite color!  Please forgive the photo, allergy shots made me all splochy this evening, so I photo-shopped the mess out me.

Thanks for reading, have a wonderful rest of your week! Enjoy it to the fullest!  Love you all!

Monday Made It 8.4.14

So I have another month before school starts but, I wanted to link up with 4thGrade Frolics for another  Monday Made It

I have had a lot going on over here with home renovations and trying to figure out which project we want to tackle next (such a pain), but I am trying to get a little ahead of where I need to be for the start of school.

Ok, so here is my inspiration for the week.  My chalkboard for this week.  It might be a little crooked, but not too terrible!
Here is the song if you want to listen along while you finish reading the rest of this post.

So I found so many of these where people were having to cut things out and paste and this and that.  I didn't want to have to do all of that.  So I made up my own - in Word.  I just need to bring up my contact information and I'm waiting on my schedule for this year, since we don't start school until September I will probably get it the last week of school.  I plan on printing this on colored paper as soon as I get all the information to finish it up!

Whew - I can't believe I copied more than 150 pieces of paper, with 100 of them being Cardstock!  I was stressing over spending that much money with OfficeMax, but I was able to use my retail card that our district provides for a discount.  So I was able to get down from 90 dollars, to 50 and then they were running a special for 25% off copies this week so they gave me that on top, so I managed spending 37 dollars.  Not too bad. So now I have a lot of cutting and laminating in my future, which is perfect since my district in throwing its own PINTEREST party this coming Thursday.  I am hoping I can get the majority of this done and cut so that I am ready to go when I go to move rooms next week.  YIKES - not looking forward to moving rooms.
So remember those frames I was doing last week - here are two of them hung up in my craft room/office.  There's an ornament my son handcrafted as well on there.  fun, Fun, FUN!  I need to get more serious about back to school Stuff, but I figured I'll get there eventually!

So I'll leave you with the frame that I wrote out the first dance lyrics to for a friend's wedding I attended over the weekend.  So happy for the both of them and it was a wonderful wedding!  Have a great week!

First Made it Monday ever! .7.28.14

Yay!  My first time completing a Monday Made It!  I was able to find Tara at 4th Grade Frolics.  So here are a couple things that I've been up to.  Not much, but its a start!

I made this chalkboard with a super easy DIY tutorial.  Which you can find here.  This quote is from a song, 10,000 reasons by Matt Redman.  Here is the song if you want to take a listen:

This was a DIY headband holder.  I even spray painted the little clips, so it would match the oh so sweet nursery decor!
Ok - this was so much fun!  My son and I made some super cute stationary for him!  He picked what he wanted his thumbprints to be and then he tasked me with making them look like how he wanted them to be.  He was scared to "mess them up"  What have I done to him, I seriously need to figure out how to get him out of that mindset!

I think I am almost done with these!  Student Data Folders.  All sheets are in page protectors, easy for students to enter in their own information!  Some of the files are found here.

Also - Started on some of these gems to help me stay better organized this coming year (fingers crossed)
Aren't they cute!  I think the next ones I will run the paper all the way down the clothespin!

Now I have to go figure out our current HOME PROJECT!  YIKES.  We have done so much with the back room of our house, but in the process we had to take out part of our deck and now we are left with "what to do next" Alot to think about.  Here  is what I am looking at now scratching my head thinking what should I do now!

Hope you have a Happy Monday!
