Bachelorette Excitement!!

So I'm so excited to be able to go to Charleston for my Bachelorette weekend.  It is always one of my most favorite places to go and be.  I am just so happy and excited that I get to spend "my" weekend with some super impressive ladies in such an amazing wonderful place.  Although some of my girlfriends and I went to Charleston last year, we are getting a beach house in the beautiful Isle of Palms.  Here is a picture of the front of the house!

It is such a gorgeous house and it even has the palmetto tree in the banisters, I just absolutely love the southern charm of the outside and of course huge porch to sit out in the evening.  Here is a little snapshot of the back of the property.

I am looking forward to drinks by this pool for the weekend, after we have been able to lay out by the beach.  After the week I'd had, this being booked completely made it seem like there is a light at the end of the tunnel.  Although I have the best bridesmaids ever who are not allowing me to know any part of this wedding process, it was nice that they let me in on this, because every time I think of the house, my girlfriends and a weekend all to ourselves I just have this huge smile on my face that does not dissipate!  I hope everybody has a wonderful weekend, and thanks for listening to my wedding weekend post!

Death has its way

Today I have had such a heavy heart, tomorrow marks a day of sorrow for my family. My grandmother lost her husband last week and tomorrow is the day we must put his soul to rest.  My grandmother has been in and out of hospital, nursing homes and this and that hospital in the past month for her own illnesses and now to have to bury her husband my heart is completely filled for her.   I have prayed all evening for the right words to say tomorrow as my grandmother does not live close, and I do not get to see her often.  I have been worrying about having Mason at the funeral since he, himself has only met him a couple times.  I am truly saddened by this whole experience and sometimes don't know what to say at all except to smile and continue about my business.

However, I found this quote this evening and thought on it over and over.

I thought for sure I would have more time, since the last time I saw when I stayed a night or so last spring with both of them.  I always wanted to stay longer or return again soon, but this and that always seemed to prevent me from doing so, and now I truly regret it.  I  think that there is nothing that can be done now, but I can make an effort to do a better job to try and stay in close contact to those who mean so much to me, and that I know my life would truly change if I did not have them in my life anymore.

Sorry so somber tonight, but just needed to voice it all out!  Pray for me to find my words and understand what I am suppose to do in such a circumstance, as I pray for peace for my grandmother.

Book Swap

YAY!  I am on here!  Whew....What a week, things that occurred last week will make this week super busy!  This week I will be attending my grandfather's funeral and going down to North Carolina to visit with my brother and watch him marry his beautiful fiance, Tasha.  So on top of 2 meetings this week and parent/teacher conferences I think it is going to be rather packed this week.

However, I am super excited that I received in the mail a very nice envelope, which held the following contents!!

I am already loving what the Forgotten Garden has to offer and even my students LOVE LOVE LOVE the cupcake bookmarks!

I was so lucky to link up with Logan from
Southern Sunflowers & Coffee Beans

in order to complete the wonderful experience

I had such a great time getting to know Logan during the month of January, I hope she enjoys the books I sent her!  Well I am off to get a jump start at work!   Have a great and wonderful day!

Stella & Dot

Woohoo!  I just got a delivery from the UPS man, and couldn't be anymore excited!!  I got the newest Stella & Dot catalog just in time for my party this upcoming weekend!  I am so excited to have a girls night at the house!  What a better excuse than to have a jewelry party, right?

This is one of my favorite pieces - I would buy one for each of my bridesmaid if it weren't 120 a necklace, it is so gorgeous!
Although the coloring is off - I still absolutely LOVE the earrings in the middle, I think they would go perfect in JAMAICA!

Well - that being said I am off to give the new catalog a look over before I must lend them out!  Love all the new product!

Family is always where my heart is :)

So, today was EXTREMELY to work before 8, and got home just before 8 as well.  I am exhausted, but I keep thinking of something Mason told me earlier tonight.  Here's what happened, Mason wanted to participate in our school's Family Reading Night, and so he stayed with me from the time school was over until it began.  We had dinner together and had fun after school together.  For Family Reading Night he was even so lucky to diddle around with another co-workers daughter, which was so adorably dressed up as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz.  He enjoyed himself immensely  but when it was all said and done for the evening, he crawled in my arms and said, "Why didn't anybody come to be with me"  I just wanted to cry.  Often, I look at him and see such a strong little boy who has already endured so much with trying to figure out his place, with a single mom for all these years, and now that the end is nearing (for my single motherhood) he is trying to figure it out yet again.  When he was in my arms I said this

He laughed and laughed, as I pretended to eat his ear.  He is such an awesome little one, I am so lucky to have, and I wrote this to say, no matter what is going on in your own life, tired, worn out or just plain "not feeling it" that day, you can be somebody's shining light.  No matter how big or small that person is, they just want to feel love and feel wanted.  Although I hate for any minute he doesn't feel love and compassion, I am always trying my best to give him all I have to make him feel loved!

Terrific Tuesday!

Well, I am trying to just say what I'm going to experience in the day.  So, I am going to say that I am going to have a marvelous day filled with wonderful little children.  I am not going to be a manic/crazy person today trying to get it all done, because if it doesn't get done today, it will still be here tomorrow!  I feel that I am running on empty most days, but I am just going to pray over the fact that I can get the majority of my workload finished and ready to go and just be the best person there is for my students!

So there it is - my driving force through the day.  As well as to get back to my blog and figure out the direction I want to take with it.  However, I am devoted to make an impact on my blog this month and make the most of my time!

Have a wonderful day!

Project # 1 Shipped

Well this may be the first one, but I can guarantee it won't be the last one.  I know I am going to have many things coming my way in the next couple months.  I would much rather get things done with plenty in time for the wedding and reception!  I do not want to be a procrastinator AT ALL!!  So here is what my plan is....

Alright - So it may not look exactly like this - especially since I have never quilted a day in my life, but I plan on making a Guest Book Quilt for my wedding down in Jamaica!  I know a little ambitious, but I am hoping everything comes together, I will be taking the blocks down to Jamaica with me and having people leave their sentiments for Bobby and myself and I will bring them back to assemble them into a hanging quilt for my new craft room in our house (I will be moving into Bobby's after some renovations this spring/summer).  So here are the fabrics for the quilt so far, I will still add some in there as well...

It will use all of these except the Rio Sunshine/Natural that is for a new skirt for myself!  :)  Anyways I'm super stoked about this new project!  I can't wait to see how it all comes together!  See you tomorrow!

Revolutions for the New Year

I cannot believe that I thought to myself I could do this with so much going on, I am glad I did.  I promised myself no Resolutions, because we all know those are meant to be broken.  I looked a couple different organizing websites to jump start my need to get these where they need to be before I get married and start a new life.  My goals were put into hyper drive when I ran across a wonderful organizing site that had an awesome jump start to the New Year. New Year’s Organizing Revolution – Week 1 has been an amazing week.  Although I am still working on my computer desk, I have spent a couple hours trying to get my Craft/Creative Office in order and ready to use for all these wedding projects I keep coming up with!  Here is what I was starting will.  Now mind you, my fiance's idea of cleaning up is putting anything he is unaware with in my Room, so you are forewarned, not anything that is usable:

So there it is in All its GLORY - Yea right!  It looked pretty scary to me, but I proceeded to put my big girl panties on and deal with it!  I threw about 3 bags worth of "stuff" in the recycling bin and reorganized many of the seen things here.  I am not proud with how this chugged full room, nor did I want to post it, but I only do so to show my finished results.

Ta-Dah --- Here is the desk, everything in its spot and a CLEAR space to work!  Yahoo!  I painted this table about 3 1/2 years ago and I used to love it, but now I am thinking not so much...Maybe somethings will be changing again!!
Here is my calendar - it was new in the package, can't believe I hadn't used it!  I figured it was a waste to put holes in the wall that I will have to Spackle in 6 months so I think it looks pretty up there on my bookshelf!
Last picture to show - Here is one of my shelves that I worked on - Maybe I will be putting pictures in those frames sometime soon or maybe not ;)!  Who cares I finally have a space where I can work, I should be getting my fabric for my wedding guestbook quilt sometime this week, and this is just in time to be able to start on that craziness!
